I stopped over in Miami for a 1 night layover and stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street. My impressions are great food but dirty eating area. I don't care that the place is a little dirty inside, because when a restaurant sees this much action, it's impossible to keep it looking spic and span. The food is so good that I ate it for lunch, dinner, and breakfast for 2 days in a row. Actually, it's because this was the closest place to get food by the hotel. Plenty of other people agree because the restaurant is always super packed. I would give this place higher stars, but I can't because of the rude lady. I guess it's a Miami thing. I ordered stuff, and she came off as being very annoyed and pissed off when clarifying the order. You would have thought that I asked her for her first born. Hey, I only wanted 2 chicken meals: 1 meal and then 1 free one from the online survey from my last 2 purchases. They cheated me on the beans from my beans and rice. The little cup was mostly black bean juice and left over scrapings from the pan. I was afraid of going back there and asking for another one due to the mean cashier.

Pollo tropical is of my favority fast food places... But this one in particular is close to work, so I have lunch here at least three times a week... My new favor is the chicjen tropic chop with brown rice and corn... The chicken is akways just cooked to perfection.. The location is always clean and the staff is really freindly.

Good service, food, and ample portions. Wife loved her pork, yellow rice, and veggie plate. I gave the trio plate a try: chicken, ribs, pulled pork with black beans, white rice, and coleslaw. Good, not great but for $15 it was a very satisfying meal and a bargain.

This is the only Pollo I've ever come inside to eat at, and am very impressed by the cleanliness of the floors and the bathroom. I have a customer/agency very close to here, so sometimes I stop here just to review paperwork before I submit it. Usually very packed, but service is A-Ok :)

Service is horrible and they cheat you on the portions.

Came about 9:30pm. No lines ordered the Tropichop Lite it was all tasty and delicious. One of the better fast food places in Miami. Very decent food. Don't expect to come at lunch hour busy time and find a parking space quickly

In the neighborhood visiting my mother at work. There isn't a whole lot in this area at all, so we opted for here. We pulled in around lunchtime on a Friday. It was a little aggravating because the parking lot is not very conducive to drive thru traffic. It got a little backed up. People were unable to pull out of their spots. Once we finally pulled behind the building though, it was no problem. The line moved quickly. We were able to order effortlessly. Once at the window, the woman was very nice and quick. Food was hot and consistent with other locations I had been to. I would say, I wouldn't order a wrap again. It was small with very little fillings. I always stick to the tropi chop bowls. We tried the waffle fries for the first time and they were really good! As always, the curry mustard was my favorite. Will go back, because it is one of the few options, but will probably avoid lunchtime.

Came in her about half an hour before closing. The workers had a though day, and you could see clearly that they wanted to go home. Their chicken was really yummy, and their sides (vinegar tomatoes, beans and rice) were so-so. The only thing that lowers stars for this place has to do with the customer service. They were rushing me out of the restaurant with an attitude which felt that I was unwanted there? Oh well, at least their chicken is good, and shouldn't make too big of a deal about it since it is not your 5 star restaurant.

Everything was great except for my service from BRANDON...at the drive through yesterday... If only I had time to speak with manager but I did not thank goodness for yelp he drops my change in the street and walked away from window, comes back laughing with another girl that worked there and they staring at me, all my food was not in my bag and I asked for cup of water he's like "I can't hear you" 5 times sarcastically, my man was about to get out of the car because he's a man and was disrespectful for no reason, plus that was his change for laundry at the hotel in the street... I do plan to contact corporate if possible because people who do stuff like this always think they can get away with it and it's terrible to treat a customer that way, we ate here everyday and we never are coming back because of him :(

Came here to have some great tasting Latin food an I ended up being disappointed. Food was just terrible rice and chicken was cold and tasted as if it was sitting out all day and staff was just unbearable. Making me rush my order and then It wasn't even prepared to my liking. Food just didn't hit my appetite so I ended up having to go somewhere else because the food here didn't taste as good as i thought it would.

How is this place in business & not shut down for failing a health inspection! A disastrous mess! Oh & don't try to order food bc they will all walk by you just so they can ignore you! No thanks!

This place is great for lunch. I always get the small chop with yellow rice and the curry sauce. The churrasco steak is also very good and I use the curry sauce for that as well instead of the green chimichurry sauce. This place is fast yet healthy.

If you like full-flavored grilled chicken you should give it a try... the chicken, the ribs, mmm... good! However, I guess the owner of this particular restaurant should do better in making the restaurant cleaner... it was ok for me but not up to my standard.

This place has really good food. The chicken was seasoned well and the sauces to dip are really good. I loved the bbq sauce, and cilantro garlic sauce. The black beans were alil scary looking but i poured it over my white rice and it was perfect. Plantians where alil. Charred on the outside and under cooked for me. Nobody really spoke or understood English other than the lady who took our order but that was no problem for us were from California and she got our order right cleanliness of dining area was a lil. Questionable Thats why i took a star off. My tray seemed abit greasy. Oh and the prices were very reasonable and you get good portions.

You can spot a Pollo Tropical almost anywhere in Miami. This chain always reminds me of my family and our trips to Miami. As soon as we'd arrive to my cousins house, our first meal would be Pollo Tropical. Their family meals are affordable, filling, and tasty. The seasoning on their chicken is awesome and I love their side dishes. White rice, black beans, boiled yuca, and sweet plantains are some of my favorites. Their complimentary sauce bar is always awesome. Not all Pollo Tropicals are created equal. I've had Pollo Tropical in New Jersey (now closed) and the chicken just didn't taste the same. It lacked seasoning and that grilled flavor. Though I've eaten at Pollo Tropical many times before, this was my first time trying their dessert. Decided to get a Tres Leches and Flan. The Tres Leches had a weird aftertaste and the flan wasn't the best quality. I highly recommend skipping dessert here. Great place for a quick bite.

High quality Flavor infused foods, cilantro garlic sauce is fabulous. Similar to El Pollo Loco in California but with a much better flavor and Caribbean vibe to the food.

First visit everything was perfect. 2nd visit there was no ice in soda machine and they were out of Gatorade. However the food is very good and who has Gatorade on tap? Awesome when its not empty... First visit I had the sampler plate of pork, ribs, and chicken. Rice and beans & plantains. Loved it! Second visit I had the 1/2 chicken, rice & beans. Loved it again! That chicken is marinated in something awesome and grilled just right. I put the garlic sauce on everything but also like the mango bbq sauce. I wish we had one of these in Central Illinois.

The tropichop is really good for the white rice and black beans, especially with a side of plantains. Quick good service, positive energy.

This is usually our go-to lunch spot when we don't know where else to go. 2 things: 1. It's always consistent. 2. It's always crowded. The line fortunately moves quickly, but everyone congregated around the side and it gets super congested. Kind of annoying when I'm trying to grab my Tropichop. It's like fighting for a Blu Ray player at Wal Mart on Black Friday. It's never one of those places where I a take a bite and am like, "damn, I gotta call my momma about this place." It's good, but not amazing. I love that it's decently priced. Decent quality and nicely portioned. Be warned. Do not order the beef tropichop. It may be the worst thing I've ever eaten in my life. Stick with chicken, kids. Stick with chicken. Parking tends to be a nightmare if you go there at the wrong time. I'll continue to go on my lunch. I will continue to drown my Tropichops in their sauces. I will support til the end Pollo, because eating you still makes me feel better than going to Taco Bell.

This is a very nice little restaurant for the money. Fast food but doesn't look or taste like fast food you can get a great meal for the same money you would spend McDonald's

Cannot give a zero star. Establishment was absolutely filthy. Condiment bar was empty and rifled through. Long wait lines. Small portions and mediocre food. Tried to order but they could not understand English. Cafeteria style seating and cheap unclean tables and benches. Stay far away!

I'm back to rude Miami. The food is good at this place, but the people at the counter are rude, impatient, and have no customer service skills. Never coming back again.

I'd just flown into Miami International after traveling nearly all day, it was nearly 9 p.m., I was hungry and had a bit of a craving for BBQ. While driving home, I happened to remember that there was a barbecue restaurant in this vicinity, so I headed over. When I drove past, the BBQ joint I remembered was dark and the signage was off, so they were either closed or had gone out of business. One block further, I noticed signs for this Pollo Tropical, so I decided to pull in, at least they were open. I was the second customer in line, so I was waited on almost immediately once I decided what I wanted after checking out the menu board. I ordered the Chicken and Caribbean Ribs. It featured 1/4 chicken, 1/4 rack of grilled pork ribs along with bread and a choice of 2 sides, for something stupidly reasonable like $6.99. I headed over to the beverage dispenser to get my drink, and to the toppings bar to grab a few cups of their classic and guava BBQ sauce, and salsa. I was really surprised at the taste and the quality of both the chicken and the ribs! Both were juicy, the meat nearly fell from the bone, and both had a nice grilled and slightly smokey flavor, even without adding any sauces. Once topped with a bit of BBQ sauce, they were even better. I was able to more or less satisfy my craving for barbecue, I was surprised at the quality of the food, the speed of the service and preparation, and the flavor of everything I tried. Also, while I don't make it a point to go around reviewing restrooms, I did use the men's room here to wash my hands after eating. The place was a neat as a pin and even smelled great, which was notable.

They just don't care. They take no request, you can order what you want, but you'll get what they want. The chicken was cold and under cooked. Never this location again.

When it comes to the standard fast food offerings scattered around SoFla, Pollo Tropical is near the top of my list of preferred destinations. The food's fresh, the staff is helpful (if not always the friendliest), and the restaurant is kept in good shape. I nearly always get the tropichop with black beans and rice and then add a bunch of salsa, hot sauce, and some diced onions from their toppings bar. The one big hit against this place is the parking and drive-thru, which are often backed up terribly at lunchtime on workdays.

I still remember how stoked I was when I first moved to Miami to have a place like Pollo Tropical. Having lived in Latin America for several years and then moving way up north, I was longing for some fast, convenient place where I can indulge in the Latin flavors at will. Fast forward 12 years later there are a lot more options and my cravings are not as strong having been fully satisfied for over a decade now, but Pollo Tropical is still a solid option, and the sides are still really satisfying. Black beans rock ! fried plantains, can never get enough add some good chicken with Caribbean flavor and lunch is complete.
